If your MX 70 or MX 80 tape recorder has the EARLY version AC Connector -
with a tab on top - you will NOT be able to use a standard IEC AC cord...
as a standard IEC cable will NOT fit the connector.
This is due because Otari used a 'High Temperature' IEC connector.
This cable is called a 'C15' IEC CONNECTOR
Alll you need do is search Amazon for a IEC 'C15' AC cable....
such as the "ACP1030" or "APC1029"
